The story of Te Huripuureiata was fascinating to me from the perspective of Ruatapu.  What could happen to someone to go from a boy who plays with his brothers, to a young man filled with enough anger to plot and carry out the killing of them??

The story of the battle of Te Huripuureiata.
About Ruatapu leading his brothers out to sea to kill them off so he could be the heir. Where Paikea called the whales to save him.

Unfortunately you cannot read the writing on the drawing from the photo but it is as follows;

And Ruatapu did bludgeon his brothers
And their blood did stain the sea
And Paikea did pray
And Paikea did receive
The Whales did come
And Ruatapu did perish
And his sins born of pain envy and greed
Soaked in the blood of the sea.
